Return to Campus

Planning for a Safe Return

Phased Return to Campus

This website is an archive of the 17³Ô¹Ï Phased Return to Campus from Fall 2020 to Winter 2022.

Effective July 1, 2023, 17³Ô¹Ï no longer requires proof of vaccination for on-campus classes and masking is no longer highly encouraged.

However, students must still report a COVID-19 infection to 17³Ô¹Ï directly. We ask that you stay home if you do not feel well and inform the college if you have been on campus and subsequently been diagnosed with COVID. See details here.

Our Re-Opening Team

Preparations for the gradual re-opening of campus are led by students, faculty, staff, and administrators and follow the 17³Ô¹Ï-De Anza District, state and county guidelines. The college developed guiding principles to steer deliberations. We are prioritizing the return of students, faculty, and staff before we open the campus to the general community.

Our Process

The following steps outline the 17³Ô¹Ï return to campus process:

  1. The Scheduling Taskforce recommends which classes should return and when.
  2. The Emergency Operations Council assesses the operational needs associated with the return-to-campus prioritization, including PPE, signage, budget concerns, custodial staffing, etc.
  3. The Scheduling Task Force recommendations are presented to the Return to Campus Council â€”&²Ô²ú²õ±è;a shared governance council made up of students, faculty, staff, and administrators, which makes recommendations to the college president.
  4. The  approves the plans, which can then be implemented.

Our Approach

We are following the 17³Ô¹Ï-De Anza District  phase approach to returning to campus operations.

  • We are currently in Phase Four.

Important Note: All information on this web page represents current information, and our projections for the balance of 2021 and into 2022 could change.
