San Francisco Bay Area

The San Francisco Bay Area offers its visitors and locals a variety of activities. There are opportunities to do all types of outdoor activities like hiking or going to the beach. You can watch sporting events, go out on the town, catch great cultural events, or feel the great entrepreneurial spirit of the high-tech companies in Silicon Valley located nearby.

The Japanese Friendship Garden is patterned after Japan's famous Korakuen Garden in Okayama. 17³Ô¹Ï hosts a Bamboo Garden, which was established in 1989 and covers two acres. 

 

 is located about about 38 miles (61 km) from 17³Ô¹Ï and is famous for water related activities such as surfing. In 1885, three princes from Hawaii introduced surfing to Santa Cruz. Due to history, there is a strong bond between Santa Cruz and , which is a 5 hour flight from San Francisco. Santa Cruz is home to Jack O'Neill, inventor of the wetsuit.
