Scholarships and Financial Aid
The affordable tuition at 17³Ô¹Ï cuts the cost of studying in the U.S. by half or more. Since we are a public college, there are currently no scholarships available for new international students on F-1 visas. Federal or state financial aid is also not available to F-1 students.
Second Year Scholarships — students in their second year of attending 17³Ô¹Ï are eligible to apply
for scholarships. Awards range from $500 to $4,000. Most scholarships are for students
who demonstrate academic and extracurricular achievements. To find out more information,
please visit Financial Aid.
On Campus Employment — International students with F-1 visa may work on campus up to 19 hours per week.
All student work opportunities are part-time. For more information about eligibility
and requirements, visit On-Campus Employment. Please note: On-campus work cannot be used as funds available to cover the estimated expenses for I-20/visa purposes.
Four Year University Scholarships —Some students also receive scholarships at a 4-year university when transferring.
Scholarships may be based on a student’s academics, leadership skills, or athletic
performance. You can learn about transfer scholarships for international students
by visiting the Transfer Center, attending the Transfer Fair, or by inquiring or meeting with a university representative.
Note about online classes
F-1 students are allowed to take 1 online class in their first 12 units. Many factors are taken into consideration when calculating tuition and fees, including our ability to offer access to leading faculty and educational resources. Tuition and fees also help us offer student support services such as tutoring, counseling, and International Student Programs, all while ensuring that your courses are transferable no matter how they are delivered. There are no changes or reduction of tuition or fees based on instructional method.
