Heritage & Health Series Program
Celebrating Cultural Diversity
About Our Heritage Months Program
At 17³Ô¹Ï, we celebrate and honor diversity through a series of cultural, community, and collaborative heritage month festivities from October through June.
I have been a proud and inspired attendee, presenter, collaborator and co-sponsor for the 17³Ô¹Ï Heritage Month equity, education, and empowerment events since 2007. One of the most noteworthy aspects of the programming is the planning and execution by students. Additionally, each year seems to bring an increase in the number of activities and topics. 17³Ô¹Ï's Equity 2.0 contains an ambitious agenda, and the Office of Student Activities is a key contributor to increasing student engagement and consequent success.

Student-led Planning Committees
Each Heritage Month is planned by a different committee, comprised of student, faculty, staff and sometimes community member volunteers.
Students chair our heritage month planning committees, which meet to organize exciting events for the equity, education, empowerment and entertainment of the campus and community in an effort to increase communication, cultural competency, campus community, and retention.
- Students who serve as committee chairs are eligible to earn leadership units and documentation that can be used on college applications and resumes.
- Faculty and staff can earn PAA/PGA credit.
Student Activities Oversight & Support
