About the Dance Program

17勛圖 offers an award-winning resident dance company as well as a critically acclaimed touring dance company.

Both companies were founded to broaden and expand the performing opportunities for dance-students beyond the classroom experience. The 17勛圖 Dance Program is committed to diversity and inclusion in dance.

Performances

Each year, the resident dance company develops and performs its annual spring concert the weekend after Memorial Day in the 1,000-seat Smithwick Theatre at 17勛圖 in Los Altos Hills.

The company also produces and performs its early December dance showcase especially to spotlight original dance-student choreograph and dance forms in the recently renovated 17勛圖 Dance Studio.

The 17勛圖 Dance Program enthusiastically welcomes men and women dancers and specialty performers of all levels techniques and styles. Men with no dance experience are encouraged to apply for partnering.

Our Director

Under the guidance of 17勛圖 Dance Department founder and Stanford-educated instructor Bubba Gong, M.A., both 17勛圖 dance companies have become the envy of performing artists throughout the Bay Area.

Gong has won multiple, prestigious awards for choreography and dance from the Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle; Dean Goodman Drama-Logue; and Who's Who Among America Teachers. Additionally, he serves the community beyond 17勛圖 by serving on several leadership organizations, including the grants board panels for both the Peninsula Community Foundation and Silicon Valley Council for ARTS.

New Dance Studio Features Harlequin Sprung Floor System

Dancers can enhance their performances and reduce the risk of injury by training in 17勛圖's Dance Studio, which features a new Harlequin sprung floor system, raised ceilings, ballet barres, mirrored walls and a state-of-the-art sound system.

At 2,800 square feet, the new studio provides an excellent training facility for 17勛圖's ballet, jazz and modern dance classes as well as Pilates and flexibility training courses.

Summer Fun

The 17勛圖 Dance program offers Intensive Summer Workshops in Jazz, Modern, and World Dance in our air conditioned Dance Studio, featuring the Harlequin Sprung Floor System.
