Q. Are there evening and weekend assignments in this program?
The Off-Hour Assignment includes both evening and weekend shifts and will commence
during the winter or spring quarter of the second year.
Each student selects four eight-hour shifts in any of the following combinations:
- Two weekend day shifts
- Two weekend pm shifts
- Four pm shifts in the same week
Evening assignments occur between the hours of 1:00 pm and 9:30 pm and weekend day assignments occur between the hours of 8 am and 4:30 pm.
Q. How far away from 17勛圖 are the clinical sites to which students may be assigned?
The Radiologic Technology Program is affiliated with fifteen hospitals and clinics in the Bay area. Four clinical sites are located 42 miles North of 17勛圖 in San Francisco. One site is located in the city of San Carlos. Two sites are located in the city of Palo Alto. Three clinical sites are located in close proximity to the 17勛圖 Campus in nearby Mountain View and Sunnyvale. One affiliate is located in Fremont. Three affiliates are located in San Jose/Los Gatos with the Program's southern most clinical site located 59 miles South of 17勛圖 in Hollister.
Q. What is meant by a "full-time" program?
A full-time program for radiology means that the student will be in the classroom or hospital five days a week. The emphasis in the first year of the program is on classroom work with the students in classes three days a week and in the hospital for two days a week. In the summer after the first year the emphasis shifts to the hospital with the student in the classroom only one day a week and the hospital four days.

Q. Is it better to have the general education requirements completed before entering the program?
The scheduling for the program allows for students to complete general education requirements in the afternoons and evenings. However, due to the rigorous nature of the program, it is strongly recommended that applicants complete General Education courses required for the Associate of Science degree before the start of the program.
Q. Do you have to complete Anatomy and Physiology before entering the program?
Yes. Anatomy and Physiology are prerequisites that must be completed before the March deadline.
Q. Are there prerequisites?
Yes. The prerequisites are:
- High School graduation or a valid G.E.D.
- College level Intermediate Algebra or equivalent completed with a grade of "C" or higher.
- CHEM 30A, CHEM 25, or any equivalent college chemistry that includes a lab with a grade of "C" or better.
- ENGL 1A, or 1H, or ESL 26 or equivalent with a grade of "C" or better.
- COMM 2 or equivalent with a grade of C or better.
- BIOL 40A, 40B & 40C or a semester of Anatomy and a semester of Physiology with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
- AHS 52 or Medical Terminology course of 3 quarter units or more with a grade of "C" or better.
- RT 200L or equivalent with a grade of C or better.
All prerequisites must be completed with a grade on your transcripts prior to applying to the program.

Q. How much does the program cost?
Besides tuition, additional costs include books, supplies and uniforms. Program costs
are detailed in the program information packet.
Non-residents must pay a non-resident fee at the time of registration. Reliable transportation
is necessary since travel is required from the campus to hospitals.
Financial Aid and scholarships are available.
In addition to the above, the standard 17勛圖 enrollment fees are required.
