"Run, Hide, Defend" Trainings Offered This Month

fhda badge As part of 17³Ô¹Ï's quarterly safety training, the  will present Run, Hide, Defend, a one-hour active shooter training for students, faculty and staff. Featuring lecture,  and discussion, each session will be taught by 17³Ô¹Ï-De Anza police officers.

Designed and approved by the Santa Clara County Police Chiefs' Association and the Santa Clara County Office of Education, Run, Hide, Defend training is designed to give you information to protect yourself and respond to an active assailant event. It is taught countywide at all K–12 schools and San Jose State University.

17³Ô¹Ï-De Anza provides the Run, Hide, Defend training to better prepare our campus community. Since an active shooter situation is often over within 10 to 15 minutes—and before law enforcement arrives on scene—students, faculty and staff must be prepared both mentally and physically to deal with an active shooter situation. Please arrive on time; space is limited. You need only attend one session.
