Power Outage and Campus Closures Due to Inclement Weather—March 2023


17³Ô¹Ï Main Campus Closed Wednesday and Thursday, All Classes and Services Offered Virtually

Due to a power outage, 17³Ô¹Ï main campus power is not anticipated to be reconnected tomorrow, Wednesday. We also have more than 30 trees to remove to ensure the campus roads and pathways are safe.

17³Ô¹Ï will continue to offer all classes and all campus services virtually on Wednesday, March 15 and Thursday, March 16.

We hope this early notice enables you to plan accordingly and apologize for the inconvenience.

If you have in-person classes scheduled Wednesday or Thursday, your instructors will be in touch to confirm how the class will pivot to virtual instruction.

The Sunnyvale Center will be open and operating as normal.

Please continue to check for updates from 17³Ô¹Ï by email and text messages. We will be in touch to confirm when we can resume classes and services on the main 17³Ô¹Ï campus.

Again, please note that all services (counseling, financial aid, etc.) will continue to be available virtually.

With the weather forecast to return to normalcy tomorrow, all on-campus services and in-person classes will resume on the 17³Ô¹Ï main campus and Sunnyvale Center on Wednesday, March 15.

However, please continue to monitor your emails and texts for any changes, including from your instructors.

Severe Weather, Tuesday March 14: All Classes and Services To Be Held Virtually

The weather is forecast to feature another atmospheric weather system with extreme high winds and heavy rain tomorrow. With this in mind, 17³Ô¹Ï will pivot to offer all classes and all campus services virtually on Tuesday, March 14.

We hope this early notice enables you to plan accordingly.

If you have in-person classes scheduled tomorrow, your instructors will be in touch to confirm how the class will pivot to virtual instruction. Please note that all services (counseling, financial aid, etc.) will be open and available virtually.

Both the main campus and Sunnvyale Center will be open for in-person classes, services and events on Monday, March 13.

Please continue to watch for email and text updates from 17³Ô¹Ï and your instructors — as new storms forecast for this week may impact on-campus classes and services.

Main Campus Power Outage

17³Ô¹Ï Campus Open on Wednesday, Jan. 11

UPDATE Student Email Sent Jan. 10, 2023 at 5 p.m.

Power has been reinstalled at 17³Ô¹Ï and all on-campus classes will run as scheduled tomorrow. All campus services and offices will also be available in person as well.

While we expect light rain tomorrow, the roads could still be congested, so please allow yourself more traveling time to get to either the main 17³Ô¹Ï campus or the Sunnyvale Center.

We are excited to see everyone back on campus, with our apologies for any inconvenience caused by the power outage today.

Power Out on Campus Today

The power on campus is currently out. Please do not come to campus today, Tuesday, Jan. 10.

Faculty will be in touch with their Tuesday in-person classes directly. Online classes and classes that meet in-person on other days should not be affected.

All 17³Ô¹Ï offices will be open virtually, so reach out to us if you need help. For contact information, see our student services page.

We hope to have the power back on later today and the campus back up and running by tomorrow.
