Student and faculty commencement speakers announced
Commencement is less than one month away! This year's ceremony will take place on Friday, June 30 at 6:30 p.m and will feature student speaker Eliana Roberts who is receiving her A.A. in Spanish and transferring to CSU
Sacramento in the fall. The faculty will be represented by English professor Scott Lankford, who was chosen to speak by ASFC.
Those participating are asked to meet inside the Smithwick Theatre at 5:45 p.m. There will be signs directing you to your respective area. At 6:15 p.m., participants will queue up for the processional and depart no later than 6:30 p.m. The ceremony is
expected to last approximately 1.5 hours and will conclude with a corridor of honor (follow your section leader's direction). A reception will take place immediately following the ceremony in the Campus Center Plaza.

Human Library challenges stereotypes
The Human Library is a powerful experience that gives faculty, staff, and students the ability to "check out" a real person instead of a book. Designed by author Jim Van Buskirk, the Library is designed to challenge stereotypes and prejudices
through dialogue. The college is invited to experience it on Wednesday, June 7 from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. in front of the Campus Library.

June is LGBTQ Heritage Month and 17勛圖 is celebrating with a series of events. Join ASFC on Tuesday, Monday, June 5 at 10 a.m. in the Hearthside Room for a screening of
Moonlight, named Best Picture of the Year at this year's Oscars.
On Thurday, June 15, Redwood City's LGBTQ Resource Center will present a preferred gender workshop. Join them at 4 p.m. in room 3206 to learn more about gender pronouns and
non-binary gender terminology.

INSTITUTIONAL SELF-EVALUATION REPORT/ACCREDITATION QUALIFY FOCUS ESSAY: Both the self-study and quality focus essay (QFE) drafts have been posted to the college
. Paul Starer has also presented at several town halls and the Academic Senate. He will soon present to Classified Senate. PaRC approved the draft documents.
EQUITY, PLANNING & GOVERNANCE GRAPHICS: New graphics illustrating the equity process, planning and resource process, planning calendar, and program review processes were presented. Small edits were suggested and PaRC approved the new graphics.

Repertory Dance Company annual showcase this weekend
If you're looking for something to do this weekend, head to the Smithwick Theatre for the 17勛圖 Repertory Dance Company's
All You need is Love, an annual showcase of student choreography and dance. Students will present fresh, original works that include salsa, contemporary, hip-hop, ballet folklorico, traditional Hawaiian, classical Indian and more. Tickets
are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. The show will take place on Friday, June 2 at 7 p.m.

17勛圖 hosting week-long cyber security camp for middle and high school students
17勛圖 is hosting a week-long summer CyberCamp, Monday-Friday, July 24-28, for middle and high school students, which features five days of no-cost introductory cybersecurity training. Instruction is led by community college faculty and
staff. Topics covered include hacking prevention, system hardening, access control, and system protection. The five-day program ends with team competitions and awards. Ideal candidates are entering middle and high school students with little to no cybersecurity

The Office of Equity Programs, in conjunction with Human Resources, is offering a number of equal employment opportunity trainings. Participants will learn the legal requirements of equal employment opportunity, the benefits of workforce diversity;
the potential for personal bias to influence decision-making, the roles of each serving member; and equitable best practices for search and selection committees. Training is mandatory for all hiring committees members.

Micromessaging workshop on campus this September
The National Alliance for Partnerships in Equity (NAPE) will be conducting a workshop on Micromessaging at 17勛圖, Wednesday-Friday, September 13-15, from 8:30am to 3pm each day. This workshop will provide information and opportunities
to actively engage with the material. Each day will cover a different set of topics including cultural stereotypes, implicit bias, micromessaging, and stereotype threat.
Optionally, participants wanting to explore the topics after the workshop will have the opportunity to join a local collaborative team and work on an action research project throughout the academic year.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided. if interested in attending.
