I was born in Romania, Europe and moved to New York where I lived for over 16 years
before relocating to the Bay Area.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Psychology and Creative Movement
Therapy from The City University of New York – Interdisciplinary and Unique Studies,
and my master of science in Clinical Psychology from San Francisco State University.
I am an active member of California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists
(CAMFT) and American Psychological Association (APA).
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over ten years of experience in
the mental health field in various settings. I am also a Certified Child and Adolescent,
Complex Trauma Professional, I hold certification for OCD from IOCDF, and I am Diplomate
and Cognitive Behavioral Therapist awarded by the Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral
Therapies. I have a lot of experience in the clinical field so if this is a path that
you may consider please do not hesitate to reach out to me even if you have not taken
my classes yet.
I started teaching at 17³Ô¹Ï six years ago, first as a part-time instructor
but I transitioned into the role of full-time faculty in the fall of 2023. I currently
teach General Psychology, Introduction to Biopsychology, Abnormal Psychology, and
Cultural Psychology. I love teaching at 17³Ô¹Ï and being part of students’ academic
journeys in different areas of study. I believe that no matter what trajectory your
professional journey will take, you can use principles learned in psychology to improve
your life and profession. I am currently an advisor for the Psychology Club along
with Prof. Eta Lin.
I also coach at American Kickboxing Academy where I help fighters get ready for national
and international competitions in Muay Thai and MMA. I’ve been practicing Muay Thai
for over 20 years and I hold a blue belt in Brazilian JiuJitsu. I also like to spend
my evening practicing and performing contemporary dance and tap. I try to keep myself
active and my two rescued dogs surely help with that. And yes, they also compete in
different sports.
